What This Means for You

The second is the medical card which, in many cases, can shield a patient from scrutiny by agents of the state. The 1996 Compassionate Use Act is a California law which allows anyone to become a member of a cannabis collective with the recommendation of a doctor.

Through the provisions of the Affordable Care Act, patients can see doctors via telemedicine services from the privacy of their homes.

A teleconference appointment with a CA doctor will give a treatment plan, a physical medical cannabis card, and a signed recommendation for membership with Be Pain Free.

Legally, under the provisions of the ACA, this is the same thing as the patient traveling to CA to see the doctor in person.

Membership Requirements Based on Age

Members between the ages of 18 and 20 are kindly required to provide a valid California Medical Card to join.

For those 21 and over, a medical card is not required to place an order, though it is recommended for additional benefits and ease of access.
