We’re excited to bring you the full recap of our April Affiliate Success Zoom Call! Missed the live call? No worries! We have all the info below.

  1. What is Microdosing?

Microdosing is the practice of taking very small, sub-perceptual doses of psychedelic substances, most commonly psilocybin. These microdoses, typically 1/20th to 1/50th of a recreational dose, are not meant to cause hallucinations, but rather to enhance day-to-day wellbeing subtly.

Microdosing has roots in Indigenous healing traditions, where psychoactive plants were used in small amounts to connect with spiritual energy. Today, it’s becoming a modern wellness practice embraced across many communities.

  1. The History of Microdosing

While the term “microdosing” is relatively new, its use in spiritual and healing practices dates back thousands of years. From ancient cave art in Algeria to the Mushroom Stones of Mexico, evidence shows that our ancestors revered mushrooms as sacred allies.

In modern times, Albert Hofmann (the first to synthesize LSD) is known to have microdosed regularly and lived into his 100’s! Researcher Dr. James Fadiman brought microdosing into the modern wellness conversation, offering protocols and collecting thousands of reports that brought scientific validity to the practice. Dr. Fadiman’s protocol is still the most widely used today.

  1. Benefits of Microdosing

Microdosing has been used to support a wide variety of goals, including:

  • Mental Health: Relief from anxiety, depression, PTSD, and OCD
  • Cognitive Performance: Enhanced problem-solving, focus, and clarity
  • Emotional Wellness: Mood stability, reduced stress, and emotional resilience
  • Personal Growth: Increased mindfulness, self-reflection, and connection to purpose

Emerging research also points to benefits in neuroplasticity, hormonal balance, and support for chronic pain conditions.

  1. What Are Psilocybin Mushrooms?

Psilocybin mushrooms, often called magic mushrooms, are naturally occurring fungi found around the world. The active compound, psilocybin, converts into psilocin in the body, which interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain.

This interaction creates a unique shift in brain activity, encouraging:

  • Enhanced communication between brain regions
  • Greater openness and connectedness
  • Suppressed default mode network activity (which can reduce obsessive thinking and self-focus)

These changes not only alter consciousness but also support emotional healing and brain regeneration.
